Sweet and Simple

Here is a sweet and simple "Grande Salon"  - as the previous owners affectionately - named it.   However, when adapting it to the my current clients life style, she wanted it to be far more understated and simplified.  We selected very neutral fabrics, settling patterns and comfy textures - like velvet.  The rug, which was already owned by the client - speaks volumes of color and pattern.  So we elected to make all else, very quite.  However, lacking nothing in style.
The greek key pattern which we chose to recover the pair of French chairs in, is an elegant and timeless classic.
The pillows on the chairs are actually made of the remnants of an antique needlepoint chair.  The arm covers now serving as tiny appliqués on velvet.
The antique chair bottom now making a marvelous statement on the sofa pillow.
The small scale, curved back LEE sofa was an excellent choice for the room.
The addition of pleated tape trim to the pillows, really makes them pop - even though the velvet remains the same.
The client bought this precious little foot stool from me ( actually years before buying this house ) and it now fits perfectly into the new mix.  Astonishing!!  When you buy "what you LOVE", it always seems to work!!
Oh, My favorite Day!!! ~ FRIDAY!!!  May your weekend be merry!!
